Mobile First is a concept in which web design is planned from the outset and first for mobile devices. This concept takes into account the fact that more and more users are accessing websites primarily with smartphones and tablets. For web design, this is a small revolution, because originally all pages were developed exclusively for stationary desktops and later primarily for stationary desktops. From 2007 to 2009, many companies put two pages online, one for the stationary and one for the mobile call. After all, from 2010 to 2011, the Responsive Web Design was the established method. The page recognizes from which device it is accessed and opens accordingly.
How does Mobile First work?
Here, too, modern web designers naturally use the technical means of responsive web design, but first, they think of the mobile call. This means that the content that would otherwise have to be reduced for mobile access, such as large images on the start page, does not appear as a priority in the concept. Rather, the designers ask themselves what is the central aspect of the page in question and how it can be communicated most quickly on the small display of a smartphone.
